@CreeClayton thank you for your sharing today. Was particularly moved by your story about your father. Is it available in audio/print and where might I find it? Thank-you!
@FlairAirlines 2h 15m on hold and the call-back system not working. Customer Service person was great and helpful, but you are seriously understaffed!
Whatever else #Bill64 does, it replaces an entire system of publicly elected local representation with a centrally appointed board. @BrianPallister and the @PCcaucus and are no friends of democracy.

Canadians are deeply disturbed and saddened by the attack on democracy in the United States, our closest ally and neighbour. Violence will never succeed in overruling the will of the people. Democracy in the US must be upheld - and it will be.
@PreetBharara @AnneMilgram In a completely hypothetical situation: if a former president is legitimately convicted & imprisoned, would that individual still be entitled to staff & office expenses, secret service protections, & daily intelligence briefings? Thank #AskPreet

If Trump spoke to the meaning and substance of the graphs rather than the length of the bar, I’d give him some credit. Here... look... this one the US has a small bar, so that’s a good one. Oi t.co/BqsA2EdqGp
@RbACorp hey... how many times do I have to Unsubscribe to your daily spammy emails?! Been a few years and I’m less interested in your services with each one.
@PreetBharara @AnneMilgram When you say, “separate and apart from...” what is the difference between “separate” and “apart”? Can something be separate but not apart from? Or apart but not separate from? Really value your perspective and insight #askpreet #StayTuned #CafeInsider
@milesmac Today the first of a summer virtual program series is up called Mathematical Colors and Codes! Episode One features Prime Factorization. There's a coloring sheet to download along with it. Enjoy! librarycalendar.fair… Play with Math this summer!
What does a VP do in an empty school at the end of the day when she’s missing the staff and students? If you’re Ms. MacFarlane, you sing. And try to smile. We miss you ❤️ #KGCommunity #KGCrusaders #BSDSchools #bdnmb pic.twitter.com/w2Sd…

I use QR codes regularly with my Grade 11 World Issues and Canadian History Classes. After finding out what resources my students had available to them (access to a smart phone, data plans, etc) I began ONLY printing off enough assignments for those students who needed them in hard copy. In my classes this is only about 6 students. All of my other assignments that I traditionally would have handed out in hard copy form are now put into a QR code that is just scanned.
Students always have access to their assignments. No more excuses of forgotten or lost assignments!
I haven't used them for more than this as I know not all students have access to the tech, but for right now it is working well to save paper 🙂

Super idea! I'm hoping to do more paper-free work when our school gets wifi. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure how to apply them yet!!
What grade and subjects are you teaching Mim? Maybe can brainstorm some possibilities. For me it sure wasn't an intuitive technology... To start, Think about anywhere you'd print a website where kids would have to write it down or tap it into their device. Scanning eliminated transcription errors, makes the end content more accessible.
Here's a post I wrote about an activity I did using QR codes with my class. I suppose this fits into the 'scavenger hunt' category you mentioned. http://prmrytchr.wordpress.com/2012/11/25/kensukes-island-survival/
Limited internet at the moment - looking forward to reading through when we're home. Cheers!

When our art department has a student art show we only have enough space for each student to include one or two pieces of art, so at their installation the students include a QR code to an online gallery of the other pieces they want to display. The audiences of love it!
Love that idea - the piece on display is the hook/motivation to a more extensive display online. Thanks for sharing!
